If you love the excitement of out of hours emergency work but not the thought of covering half the region could we be the practice for you??
We feel we are now at the much anticipated stage where our small animal ‘on call’ system is ready to be elevated to 24 hour over night vet care.
Our Newark (Nottinghamshire) site has been beautifully extended to allow for this exciting progression and we are now ready to begin recruiting enthusiastic night vets.
We have all the usual toys in our large new extension; video endoscope, digital xray with dental xray, ultrasound, ecg, multiparameter monitoring, slit lamp, tonopen, recently upgraded Idexx lab equipment and even a lift for getting upstairs to the cat ward!
There is an on site flat with kitchen, full bathroom and 2 bedrooms as we expect that 12am to 6am may be very quiet based on current out of hours calls. The calls will be filtered through an answer phone service rather than answering live. We anticipate a RVN to also be onsite through the night and are exploring the evening hand over system with likely late shift workers to make day time hand over efficient.
The rota is open to discussion and the salary will be competitive and reflect the out of hours nature of the work. We are a busy 6 site independent practice with a mix of expertise and areas of interest. We have several certificate holders including medicine, ophthalmology and cardiology. We have several vets who can perform a range of in house orthopaedics.
