As you may have noticed, our Newark surgery has grown a little over the last 12 months. To try to make our facilities as practical as possible for staff and patients alike we have added almost 50% extra to the footprint of the building.
As part of the extension and upgrades we have achieved the ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic Gold Standard for feline care.
Our cattery has more than tripled in size, with much bigger “cat condos” to help keep our feline patients as comfortable as possible. Our kennels vary in size depending on the patient and likely duration of stay. The room is fully temperature controlled with natural light available. We also have a dedicated consult style room next to the cattery for procedures that require calm and quiet, such as blood samples, catheterisation, ultrasound and or simply handling of more nervous cats. Our cattery is located upstairs to allow the extra space and to avoid the canine choir that often accompanies the morning!
We also incorporated a separate room for the small furry friends and our many wildlife guests that come to visit.
Our waiting area has been made much much larger to allow people to spread out a little more often. We also have a designated quiet waiting room for our feline or small furry friends who would like to feel a little more separated from and dogs in the waiting area. We have incorporated a speaker system to allow people to be called from the quieter room.
We have added an extra pre-operative prep area and theatre to allow us to expand our daily throughput of operations. We have also improved our staff areas including a staff room, new office spaces and an onsite flat.
